Field Trips
For free environmental educational field trips, bring your class or youth group (i.e.: scout troop, homeschooling group, after-school club) to one of RCRCD’s two sites:
- The Land Use Learning Center (LLC), a 3-acre demonstration of sustainable practices in Native Habitats, Urban Areas, and Agriculture near downtown Riverside.
- The Sycamore Creek Interpretive Center (SCIC) at the Sycamore Creek Preserve in Temescal Valley.
Visit either site to learn about local native species and natural resource conservation. Discover the importance of conserving water, preventing pollution, preserving wildlife habitat, planting trees for climate change, Reduce-Reuse-Recycling, and other sustainability topics.
For customized educational programs, please coordinate in advance with our Resource Educators who will conduct programs that meet your learning objectives and are age-appropriate, hands-on, and inspiring:
- For the Land Use Learning Center, please contact Erin Snyder at snyder@rcrcd.org.
- For Sycamore Creek Interpretive Center, please coordinate with Michele Felix-Derbarmdiker at Felix-Derbarmdiker@rcrcd.org.
